Since the launch of the GAFs Gotta Go/ GAF Vete Ya campaign, several research reports and projects have been completed. They are outlined below.

Environmental Protection Agency GAF Exit Timeline Report

The EPA worked with both West Dallas 1 and Singleton United/Unidos to assess the proposed closure timeline created by GAF. The report below illustrates that GAF’s 2029 closure date and ramp down timeline is unnecessary compared to industry standards. Table 2 below summarizes this finding. The full report illustrates the need for a public process to determine the appropriate closure timeline, not GAF’s arbitrary deadline.


BVA Group Valuation on GAF Closure Timeline Pre and Post SB 929

“Based upon my review of publicly available data, the Amortization Basis for the Facility under SB 929 ranges from $36.1 to $45.2 million. The associated Amortization Timelines range from 2.9 to 3.6 years.

West Dallas Environmental Health Project

Date of completion: July 2024

Purpose: to study the public health and pollution exposure in the Singleton Corridor near GAF West Dallas.
