On July 30, 2021, the Dallas Magazine published an article recapping a hearing regarding the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s (TCEQ) permit renewal for an Operating Permit for the GAF manufacturing facility in the West Dallas residential area.
The hearing indicated a strong support for the resident concerns regarding air quality. Although the permit is a standard renewal, it served as a soundboard for concerns and indicated that there are fundamental issues with the legality of the GAF facility operating within a residential area.
Singleton United would form by the end of the following month and formalize their efforts within two months. We are busy demanding improved air quality and educating residents to the latent dangers of GAF’s manufacturing and their practices.
